Project Grow has promoted and managed community gardens in Ann Arbor for over 35 years. Melissa Kesterson will speak about the challenges Project Grow faces due to development in the Ann Arbor area, even as interest in organic and local food production is increasing. Speaker: Jochen Schacht, Director of U-M Kresge Hearing Research Institute
Topic: "Can You Hear Me?"
Our precious auditory sense and how we can lose it. Dr. Schacht conducts research in China and Georgia on noise-induced hearing loss. In addition to being Kresge Director, he is Professor of Biological Chemistry in Otolaryngology, and conducts research with the Institute of Gerontology about the "aging-ear."
