The Rotary "Blue" Bowling Team won the second-half season championship in the Colonial Lanes Service Club League, then faced off against the first-half champs in a winner-take-all match on Thursday, April 29, the last night of the 2009-10 season. It was a squeaker, but our boys emerged victorious and won the trophy as season-long League Champions. League veterans cast back through their collective memories and concluded this was the first championship for Rotary in about fifty years. Bill Stegath probably could verify this, having been on an Ann Arbor Rotary bowling team for that long, but he wasn't bowling that night.
That's Rotarian Ed Weir (back left) with a group of Interact students on Saturday, Nov. 1, when more than 50 Club members and Interacters gathered in Sylvan Park with Ann Arbor foresters with plant trees. And plant they did! More than 50 trees went into the hand-dug holes. No one's telling how many donuts or how much cider the arborists consumed, but we do know that in two hours, all the work was done, proving that many hands make light work.

The place was Susan Smith Gray’s chalet on Bass Lake in Pinckney. More than 30 Rotarians and family members gathered for a time of fun, sun and good food.
